My Approach:

As an integrative therapist, my approach integrates multiple therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, person-centred, and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), allowing me to tailor my approach to suit your individual needs. My aim is to use the methods that work best for you.

At the heart of my approach is genuine empathy and compassion. I believe the client-therapist relationship plays a vital role in the therapeutic process, so my aim is for us to build a relationship where you feel heard, feel seen, and feel safe. I also believe therapy should be a collaborative process, where your goals and wishes are respected, and we're working in a way that you feel comfortable with. You can choose the focus and pace of the work.

Through our work, you may find:

  • Insight & Self Awareness: Gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and your patterns of thinking and feeling, including understanding the ways your past may have shaped your present.
  • Coping Mechanisms: Better understanding the ways you typically cope with stress or overwhelm, exploring whether your usual coping mechanisms are still serving you well, and exploring new coping strategies.
  • Healing: Processing past wounds and how these may have impacted you, and beginning the healing process.
  • Building Self-Compassion: Developing your ability to identify and challenge your self-critical thinking patterns, and learning ways to be more gentle and compassionate towards yourself.
  • Building Self-Care: Exploring new ways to care for yourself, and building up a 'toolkit' of tools to protect your emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing.
  • Building Resilience: Empowering yourself and feeling more self-confidence in navigating life's challenges.

My Experience:
