Frequently Asked Questions

How much does therapy cost?

Fees depend on the format and location of your sessions:

  • In-person sessions in Croydon: £50
  • In-person sessions in Bloomsbury, London: £70
  • Online sessions: £45

I reserve a number of slots for clients on reduced fees, including students, trainee counsellors, and those on a low income. Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more or to check availability for a reduced-fee slot.

How long does therapy take?

I offer both short-term therapy (typically 8–16 sessions) and longer-term, open-ended therapy.

If you'd prefer to work towards a set number of sessions, we can absolutely do that. Equally, if you'd rather start therapy and see how things go, that works too. Every few weeks, we'll check in together to review how you're finding the process and whether it feels right for you.

There's no fixed commitment, you can end therapy whenever you choose to.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, everything you share in our sessions is confidential.

Do I need a GP referral?

No, you don't need a GP referral. If you're thinking about starting therapy, you're very welcome to reach out and contact me directly — this is known as self-referral.

What happens in a free introductory call?

The free introductory call isn't a therapy session, it's simply a chance for us to have a chat, get to know each other a little, and see whether we feel like a good fit to work together. The call typically lasts around 30 minutes.

Here's what you can expect:

  • You can tell me a little about what's bringing you to therapy
  • I may ask about what you'd hope to get from our sessions, and whether you have any particular goals in mind
  • I may ask a bit about your background, relationships, and medical history
  • I'll explain how I work and what therapy with me looks like
  • If we both feel it's a good fit, we can look at availability and book a first session

There's absolutely no obligation to proceed. If you'd like time to think about it afterwards, that's completely fine.
